She was born Thursday, May 23, 1907 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late James E. and Albina Descoteaux Coughlin. Mrs. Turcotte was the Past President of the Parent Teachers Association in Connecticut, a delegate to the United Nations and a member of the Girls Club in Waterbury, CT. She was a dance instructor and an arts and crafts teacher. Mrs. Turcotte was also a Deaconess at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Waterbury, CT. Surviving are her daughter, Pearl Mary Whelan; son, John Anderson Phillips; step-daughter, Joan Bowyer; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey J. Turcotte and 2 sons, Robert and Harry Phillips; 1 grandson; and numerous brothers and sisters. Friends will be received Monday, July 23, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son in Ponchatoula. Services will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 7:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
