TURKNETT, JUNIOR C.    

Died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at his residence in Roseland. He was 78 
and a native of Kiowa, Okla. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 
p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visitation at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 
religious service at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Weiborg. Interment 
in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola. Survived by his wife, Virean Hughes Turknett, 
Roseland; four daughters, Jo Ann Turknett Clarey, New Orleans, Dianna Turknett 
Constant and Donna Turknett Orgeron, both of Thibodaux, and Gaylin Turknett Gurta, 
Atlanta; four sons, David Turknett, Galliano, Clyde Turknett, Austin, Texas, Pete 
Hughes, Roseland, and Cecil John Hughes, Watson; a sister, Lenora Turknett Logan, 
Malakoff, Texas; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death 
by his parents, Bud and Ethel Turknett; a brother, Johnny Turknett; and 
grandchildren, Marc Alan Clarey and Amy Lynn Barrios.
