Elliott Andrew Tycer, 90, and a native of Amite, died Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2007, in New Orleans. He was the devoted husband of the late Maxie Mae Peavy. Survived by his sister, Helen T. Lewis, of New Orleans; and two brothers, Marshall D. Tycer, of Covington, and Paul J. Tycer, of Denham Springs. Preceded in death by his parents, Inez Johnston and Thomas Andrew Tycer; brothers, Herndon, William and Carol Tycer; and sisters, Marian Frohn, Alice Miller and Sara Ellen Naul. He was a longtime resident of New Iberia, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a continuous 54-year member, 32nd degree Mason and grand master with Aurora Lodge 193. He was a retired BellSouth employee with 44 years of service. F., JR. Mr. G.F. Tycer Jr., 85, of Tickfaw, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was born on July 6, 1925, in Baton Rouge, son of the late G.F. Tycer Sr. and Daisy Martin Tycer. He was the founder and owner of Tycer Ready Mix. He was also a pecan farmer and enjoyed making jelly, candy and pralines. Mr. Tycer was a member of the Masonic Livingston Lodge 160 and former board member for Lallie Kemp Foundation, Community State Bank and Hancock Bank. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of Peleliu. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Peggy Lee Tycer; daughter, Glenda T. Whitaker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwain C. and Linda Tycer and Larry L. and Donna Tycer; eight grandchildren, Amy Tycer Smith, Shaun C. Tycer, Keaton G. Tycer, Chad M.
