ULI, MASTER SGT. CHARLES (RETIRED U.S. AIR FORCE)

A veteran of Korea
and Vietnam while serving in the U.S. Air Force and a resident of Hammond,
he died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at his home. He was 70 and a native of
Independence. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond,
6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at
the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Mitch
Williams. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum, with full military honors at
graveside. Survived by his wife, Evelyn Callender Uli, Hammond; four
sons, Calvin Benton, Hammond, Dwight Benton, Independence, Michael Paul
Benton, Springfield, and Roncalli S. Uli, Hammond; four sisters, Nina
Guzzardo, Independence, Rosie Michelli, Hammond, Jennie Ruth, River Ridge,
and Vita Michelli, California; five brothers, Marion Uli, Tickaw, Roy 
Michelli, Independence, Sam Michelli, Baton Rouge, and Frank and Pete 
Michelli, California; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by his 
parents, Charles and Josephine Zimnardo Uli. He was a retired 
superintendent from Louisiana State Department of Transportation and 
Development.

ULI, JOSEPH

3 June 1932; p. 1, col. 6:  Joseph Uli, 54, died at his home in
Independence, 1 June 1932.  Death was by suicide by shotgun.
Survived by wife, the former Miss Lilly Genovese; one son,
Michael Uli; two daughters, Phyne and Ophelia Uli, all of the
home; three brothers, Peter Uli of New Orleans, Constantine and
Santo Uli, both of Independence.

ULI, MARION JOSEPH
A resident of Tickfaw, LA, died at 7:03AM on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his 
residence. He was born March 17, 1933 in Independence, LA and was 77 years 
of age.  Visitation at Our Lady of Pompeii, from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until 
religious services at 11 a.m Wednesday. Services conducted by Fr. Hank 
Groover, O.P.  Interment Colonial Cemetery, Independence, LA.  Survived by
wife, Ethel Robinson Uli, Tickfaw, sister, Nina Uli Guzzardo, Independence, 
brother, Sam Uli, Baton Rouge, 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
