Survivors include a daughter, Helen Underwood Johnson, Hammond; five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Four sons, Russell, Riley, Bud and Charles; daughter, Lillian; two sisters, Annie "Peate" Conley and Lela Weber; and two brothers, Albert and Russell Stiels, preceded her in death. Visitation will be at N.A. James Funeral Home today from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Hanible will conduct the funeral Friday at 11 a.m. at Greenfield Baptist Church, and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 11/19/2001 UNDERWOOD, MARY KATHERIN A resident of Hammond, she died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs. She was 87 and a native of Brandon, Iowa. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 1 p.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Monday, conducted by Brother Mark Crosby. Interment in Live Oak Methodist Church Cemetery, Denham Springs. Survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Bobbie) Nanney, Mrs. Clyde (Karen) Ginn, Mrs. Henry (Phyllis) Harrison and Linda K. "Rusty" Whittington; two sisters, Dorothy Beeson and Betty Coussou; a brother, Carl Andrew Schoen Jr.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, James Z. Underwood; parents, Carl and Clara Schoen; two grandsons, John William Ott Jr. and James Michael Ott; and a brother, Theodore Schoen. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. She was a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Live Oak Methodist Building Fund.
