VALENTINE, DELORIS  

Deloris Valentine, 59, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at North Oaks Medical 
Center,Hammond. She is survived by her husband, Roger Valentine; two sons, 
the Rev. Ronald Valentine of Hammond and Derrick Valentine of Baker; two 
sisters, Irene McCraney of Hammond and Alzina Terry of Columbus, Ohio; two 
brothers, Elmo Booker and William Booker of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and six 
grandchildren. The Rev. Samuel Brown will conduct the funeral Friday at 8 
p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Hammond. Dismissal will be Saturday 
at 11 a.m., and burial will be in the church cemetery. N.A. James Funeral 
Home, Hammond, is in charge.

VALENTINE, JOAN MARIE
A resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died on Sunday, July 1, 2007, in
Baton Rouge. She was 57. A private memorial service will be held by the
family at a later date. Survived by her parents, John Alvin and Catherine
Valentine, Baton Rouge; four nephews, J. Travis and and wife Noel Steffes
Valentine, John-Colt Valentine, Johnathan Valentine and Andrew Valentine;
great-nephew, John Taylor Valentine; sister, Mary P. Valentine, Baton
Rouge; and three brothers, J. Milton and wife Jessie Valentine, Baton
Rouge, Paul R. Valentine, Ponchatoula, and C. Wayne and wife Judith
Valentine, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Benton and
Annie Valentine, Leonce Lagarde and Jossie Lagarde Forbes.

VALENTINE, VEDA WILLIAMS

A resident of Amite, she died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at North Oaks 
Medical Center, Hammond. She was 75 and a native of St. Helena Parish. 
Visitation at Pine Ridge United Methodist Church, Kentwood, from 5 p.m. 
to 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. 
Friday. Interment in Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery, Baton Rouge. 
Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie C. and Ralph Lee, and 
Dianne Gautreaux, all of Amite; four sons and daughters-in-law, Willard 
"Buddy" and Barbara Chapman, Valdosta, Ga., Jule "Monk" and Connie 
Chapman, Pierre Part, James "Jimmy" and Wanda Chapman, Baker, and Steve 
and Sandra Chapman, Watson; two sisters, Susie W. Reeves, Kentwood, and 
Sadie Mae W. Carter, Greensburg; a brother, James W. "Pete" Williams, 
Baton Rouge; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in 
death by first husband, Emmett Reid Chapman; second husband, Vannie M. 
Valentine; three sisters, Vivian Young, Mary Williams and Zelma Lee 
Williams; three brothers, Irvin Williams, Hubert Williams and Richard 
Williams; parents, Euliss and Johanna "Totsi" Williams; and a 
granddaughter, Betty Elaine Chapman. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in 
charge of arrangements.
