VAN DUREN, VELMA ALFORD
Velma Alford Van Duren was born on November 21, 1916. She was a resident of
Roseland and passed away April 19, 2007, at the Louisiana War Veterans Home
in Monroe. She was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from the U.S.
State Department.  She is survived by two brothers, Herbert and Dallas
Alford, and one sister, Vera Heise.  She is preceded in death by her
parents, Hazel and Homer Alford; a brother, Lewis Alford; and a sister,
Doris Ryan.  A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April
28, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Harry
McKneely & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
