He was a native of Hot Wells, Calif. He formerly lived in Alaska, owned a floor covering store, was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Porterville. He is survived by his wife, Helen VanVeckhoven of Porterville, Calif.; two sons, Aaron Glenn VanVeckhoven of Porterville and Donald Keith VanVeckhoven of Merced, Calif.; two daughters, Sharon Kamberg and Anita Marie Arbaca, both of Porterville; one brother, Richard Larry VanVeckhoven of Alexandria; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pumpkin Center, from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 10. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10445 Placerville Road, Sacramento, CA 95827.
