VEATCH, HAZEL B. 

ALTOONA, Iowa - Hazel B. Veatch, 77, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Mercy Medical 
Center, Des Moines, Iowa. She was a native of New Orleans, a homemaker and former 
resident of Hammond. She is survived by her daughter, Hazel Anderson of Altoona; 
her son, Edward Veatch of Hammond; her sisters, Emily Bernadas of New Orleans; and 
five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Virgil Veatch; and her parents, Albert and Hazel Bernadas. A Mass was 
today at 1 p.m., and burial was in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery, New Orleans. 
McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home, New Orleans, was in charge.
