Kentwood -- Naomi K. Velen, 85, died at her home Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kentwood. She is survived by her son, Richie Velen of Kentwood; two grandchildren and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Velen; one son, Jackie Velen; and her parents, Frank and Melinda Kliesch. Visitation will be Wednesday at Hartman Funeral Home, McComb, Miss., from 12:30 p.m. until the Rev. Milton Kliesch conducts the funeral at 3. Burial will be at Osyka Cemetery, Osyka, Miss. He was 60, a native of Greenlaw and a resident of Kentwood. Mr. Velen was a correctional officer at Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson.
