He was 80, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Amite. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Religious service at St. Helena Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa. Survived by three daughters, Linda V. Paine, Amite, Sandra A. Verdon, Houma, and Susan G. Bernard, Hammond; a son, Ronald J. Verdon Sr., Raceland; two sisters, Rose Gros, Metairie, and Patsy Anderson, Terrytown; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by four sisters, Claire Hudson, Carmelite Behler, Vera Morris and Mona Baumgard; and six brothers: Adolph, Henry, Georgie, Earl, Paul, and Beauregard Verdon.
