Mrs. Vicari, 74 years old, was born June 11, 1936, in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Salvadore "Sam" Vicari and the late Mary Ann Pecoraro Monteleone. She died Sunday, August 15, 2010, surrounded by her sons, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a loving mother, maw-maw-, sister, aunt, and friend. She was survived by her two sons, Dominick "Donnie" P. Vicari Jr. and his wife Lisa McDonald and Carlos "Luke" Vicari and his wife Lisa Stilley Vicari; three devoted grandsons whom she dearly loved, Kelly David Vicari and his wife Rhiannan, Dominick "Trey" P. Vicari III and his wife Felicia, and Shelton Dupree Vicari; her only granddaughter and light of her life, Maegan Elizabeth Vicari; and her three beautiful great-granddaughters, Valerie Marie Vicari, Melanie Nicole Vicari, and Alexandria Lyn Vicari; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores "Dee" Monteleone and Joe Cangelosi and Carol Monteleone and John Terre; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick P. Vicari Sr.; parents, Mary and Sam Monteleone; and her sister, Tina Monteleone Horvath. Bessie was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. She was the most giving person ever to grace this earth. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her sons, grandchildren, daughter-in-law and family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kelly, Trey, and Shelton; her nephews, John Terre IV, Michael Cangelosi, and Zole Horvath. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Joe Cangelosi, Randy Cangelosi, Joseph Terre, and John Paul McDonald. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 18, 2010, from 9:00 am till 1:30 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Louisiana. He died Sunday, October 18, 2009, at his home in Hammond, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, dad, paw-paw, uncle, and friend. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bessie Monteleone Vicari; two devoted sons, Dominick "Donnie" P. Vicari, Jr. and his wife Lisa McDonald Vicari and Carlos "Luke" Vicari and his wife Lisa Stilley Vicari; three grandsons whom he dearly loved Kelly David Vicari and his wife Rhiannan, Dominick "Trey" P. "LARRY" "ROCK" Mr. Loreto J. "Larry" "Rock" Vicari, a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at the age of 62. Larry died at his home in Independence after a courageous two-year fight with cancer, with his loving wife Peggy by his side until the end. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jones Vicari; son and daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Terri Vicari of Christianburg, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Tricia V. and Bob Harris of Prairieville; seven grand- children, Chelsen, Lunden, Laryen and Micaiah Vicari, Brooke and Brennan Gautreaux, and Kristen Harris; and two uncles, Angelo Albano of Bush and Frank Albano of Mission Viejo, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gasper Joseph and Mary Albano Vicari; and his sister, Ann Vicari Raney. Mr. Vicari retired with 27 years of service with Shell Chemical, Geismar. His family would like to thank Dr. Ruben Fabrega and the caring and compassionate nurses at Ochsner Clinic on Summa, off of Bluebonnet; his very special friend, Reggie Smith, for being such a dear and close friend who was always ready to take Larry fishing; and pastor Charles Alder and the entire congregation of loving people of the Shepherd's Care Ministry, who openly loved Larry and whom Larry loved dearly. Larry will be sadly missed by his devoted wife and all those who knew and loved him. Larry loved his family, friends, fishing, cooking, gardening and his church family.
