She was 85, a native of Wisner and a former resident of Natchez, Miss. Religious services were held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Paul Bailey of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church. Interment was in Rose Memorial Cemetery. Survived by a son, Harry Edward Viener, Hammond; three grandchildren, William Davenport Viener, Covington, Rachelle DeSha Simmons, Kennesaw, Ga., and Anne-Conley Viener, Hammond; two brothers, Eldon Spencer Brown, Wisner, and Col. Charles Sheffield Brown, Braithwaite; and a sister, Georgia Belle Warner, Lake Geneva, Wis. Preceded in death by parents, Georgia Emma Sheffield Brown and Eldon Spencer Brown. She was a former member of First Church of Christ Scientist, a longtime member of the boards of directors of Natchez Protestant Home and the Salvation Army, and a member of the American Daughters of the Revolution and the Natchez Garden Club. Church St., Hammond, LA 70401. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 1/8/2006 VIENER, JACQUELINE HEINTZ Jacqueline Heintz Viener, age 66, died at her home in Hammond on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond on Monday, Jan. 9, from noon until funeral service at 1 p.m. There will be a reception in her honor in the parish hall after the service. Mrs. Viener is survived by her husband, Harry E. Viener; three children, William Davenport Viener of Covington, Rachelle DeSha Viener of Williamstown, N.J., and Anne-Conley Viener of Hammond; two sisters, Merlyn Heintz Chauvin of Covington and Dianne Heintz Smith of Magnolia, Miss., as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rachael Marie and Otis Harold Heintz, who were of Covington. She was a native of Covington, a longtime resident of Hammond and was a 1957 graduate of St. Scholastica Academy. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University where she received a bachelor of arts and masters degrees in education. In addition to her studies at S.L.U., she completed summer programs at the Centre International d'Etudies Francais in Angers, France, the University of Clermont Ferrand Center de Langues Moderns in Vichy, France, and the University of Mons in Mons, Belgium. She was a teacher of English and French in the Hammond and Ponchatoula public school systems. She was a member of the National Teachers of English and the American Association of Teachers of French as well as several other professional organizations. She was active in her church and served as youth group director and was a member of the Diocese of Louisiana Youth Council. She served on the Shop for Habitat board and the Ginger Ford Habitat for Humanity board. More recently, she founded the Tangipahoa Parish Cancer Support Group, serving as the facilitator and program director.
