VINEYARD, GERRY LYNN LESTER 
Gerry Lynn Lester Vineyard, 67, of Hammond, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at
her home. She was born Sunday, Aug. 28, 1938, in West Monroe, the daughter
of Mattie Lou Oliver Lester and the late AJ Lester. Mrs. Vineyard retired
after 38 years of teaching with the St. Tammany Parish school system and 10
years as a homebound teacher with the Tangipahoa Parish school system. She
was also a senior adult administrator at Natalbany Baptist Church. She is
survived by a son, William Vineyard; two daughters, Lori Garner and
Elizabeth Vineyard; a sister, Louise Miller; and four grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Vineyard. Friends will be
received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Wednesday, Jan.
4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Service
at Immanuel Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. John Campbell
officiating. Interment in Hoffman Cemetery. Contributions may be made to
the Gerry Vineyard Special Education Memorial Fund, c/o Ponchatoula High
School, 19452 La. 22 East, Ponchatoula, LA 70454 or call Mary Beth Crovetto

VINEYARD, IONA

Funeral services for Iona Vineyard, 88, sister of Thelma Joiner of 
Ponchatoula, were Wednesday, April 26, from Geisler Funeral Home of Hammond. 
Burial was in Vineyard/Hoffman Family Cemetery, Hammond. Mrs. Vineyard died 
Sunday, April 23, in Hammond Nursing Home.
