WEEMS, ROBERT
Robert Weems, 51, of Independence, died last Saturday at Charity Hospital
in New Orleans, from injuries he received in an auto accident one mile
north of Independence on Monday of last week.  He had lived in Independence
for the past 48 years.  Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church
in Independence with interment in Starkey-Hoover Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. S. L. Weems of Independence; three
sisters, Miss Sally Weems of Independence, Mrs. Ancil B. Fortenberry and
Mrs. C. H. Newman, both of Jackson, Miss.; one brother, John W. Weems of
Independence.
