WHARTON, REV. GEORGE F.
Hammond friends were grieved to learn last Monday of the death of Rev.
George F. Wharton in Thibodaux, where he had served as rector of St. John's
Episcopal Church for the past few years.  He was a native of New Orleans;
in his 59th year.  He married Miss Fleda Garfield Spencer in Hammond.  He
is survived by his wife; one son, George Franklin Wharton, III of New York,
N.Y.  Mrs. Wharton is a sister of Mrs. W. A. Graves and Earl Spencer of
Hammond.
