Davis "Monroe" Whiddon, Sr., a lifelong resident of Independence, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012. Monroe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He was a Mason, Shriner, and a volunteer deputy of Independence for two years (1995-1997). It broke our hearts to lose him, but he did not go alone. If love could have saved him, he never would have gone.
