Services for Mrs. Eva C. Wiggins, who died March 7 at 12:20 a.m. at Seventh Ward Hospital, were held March 8 from Thomas Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: N. Wales of Greensburg, Eugene and Roger Hornsby of Baton Rouge, Arthur D. Seale of Metairie, Gary Hodges of Baton Rouge, and T/Sgt. William J. Wiggins of Fort Walton, Fla. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Cutrer and Jerry Cutrer. Three daughters survive her, Mrs. Ernest Hornsby, of Baton Rouge, Mrs. German Smith of Hammond, and Mrs. Lloyd Hodges of Baton Rouge; three sons, Lloyd W. Wiggins and Jack C. Wiggins, both of Hammond, and Elton C. Wiggins of Portland, Ore.; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Elton C. Auxvasse, MO. - Jack C. Wiggins, 66, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Mo. He was a native of Hammond, a welder in the construction industry, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, Mexico, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Wiggins; two sons, Jack C. Wiggins II, Mexico, Travis J. Wiggins, Dillon, Mont.; three daughters, Eva Mae Lanaro, Smithsburg, Md., Jessica Lea Long, Branson, Mo., and Deborah Ann Bennett, Hammond; six grand- children and two stepgrandchildren. His parents, Elton Compton and Eva Clara East Wiggins; three brothers, Lloyd Wilburn, Elton Compton Jr. and Richard Earl Wiggins; and six sisters, Gladys Elizabeth Hornsby, Clara Louise Smith, Vivian Theresa Wiggins, Elton Lorriane Hodges, Helen Ruth Cutrer; and an infant sister, preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Arnold Funeral Home, Mexico, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Rita D. Wiggins, age 95, died at Trinity Neurological Rehabilitation Center in Slidell, LA on July 2, 2011. Born on October 18, 1915, in Montpelier, LA, to the late Barney and Minnie Story Durbin, and widow of the late Lloyd Wilburn Wiggins. Rita is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Arthur Seale of Lacombe, LA; daughter-in-law, Simone Wiggins of Ponchatoula, LA, who is the widow of William "Bill" Wiggins, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, her son, and two grandsons.
