Clifford and his wife of 47 years moved to Hammond, LA in 1980 where they raised their two daughters in the place they called home. Known throughout the community as an outstanding physician, he practiced medicine for over 30 years, impacting the lives of many people. With a personal motto of "Quality over Quantity of Life", he was a founding member of the American Academy of Hospice and Pallative Physicians, and was later named a Fellow of the Academy. In the early 1980's, along with Lou Bordelon, he established the first Hospice program in South Louisiana, an organization which continues to help families, including his own, through the final phases of a loved ones' life. Throughout his career he continued to serve a Medical Director for multiple Hospice programs in the region. A principled man in his profession yet a quiet man by nature, he made many people smile through his musical and culinary talents. Dorothy Virginia Miller Williams went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren at her home on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Dot lived a long life dedicated to the Lord, her family and loved ones. She enjoyed dancing with her beloved husband Carl, singing in her church choir for over 40 years and sharing her love of Louisiana's culture and cuisine with her family. Dot will be remembered for her inner beauty which enhanced her outer beauty. Dot was born September 1, 1929 in Ponchatoula and was a graduate of Southeastern High School. She completed her education at Baton Rouge Business College. Dot met the love of her life, Carl Nash Williams, in 1949 at a dance at The Playcation Club in Baton Rouge. They married on August 11, 1950 and had three sons: Carl Allen, Timmy and Ross. After twelve years of secretarial work, Dot began her dream job as an Avon sales representative. She excelled for the next 45 years, winning numerous trips, awards and prizes. Her achievements included President's Club and Honors' Society, which she was recognized for since their inception. Dot is survived by her loving husband Carl of 62 laughter and love filled years; three sons: Carl Allen and wife Karen, Timothy Dale and wife Deborah and Ross Scott; five grandchildren: Dustin and wife Andrea, Kevin and wife Nicole, Leslie Webb and husband George, Jennifer McSweet and husband Jonathan and Heather; and nine great- grandchildren: Marley, Kensley, Taylor, Luke, Jordyn, Kambrie, Kalem, Audra and Ryder.
