Revelations 21:4. Mercedes Denay (Meme) Zanders Williams was born July 27, 1967, to the late Geraldine Zanders and the late Clettis Luter in New Orleans, La. She departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Sister Mercedes accepted Christ as a teenager and was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Shannon Warner where she continued to serve as a member. Sister Mercedes was a graduate of the Plaquemine High School Class of 1985 and she went on to attend the University of New Orleans. Mercedes was the proud mother of two children, Patrick and Shanta, whom she cherished and loved with every breath she took. Mercedes was a very diligent and professional worker who loved being around co-workers and friends. She worked for several major companies which include The Louisiana Lottery, FEMA, and her final job as Safety Coordinator for Vescom/Georgia Pacific where she worked for 12 years.
