She was born April 8, 1922 in Wheeling, West Virginia and grew up in the Hungarian Settlement in Albany where she attended St. Margaret Catholic Church. A homemaker and caregiver for most of her life until her later years when she became an integral partner in her husband's family produce business, Williams and Sons Produce. Ms. Nora was a devoted wife and loving mother serving as a constant advocate for handicap children, particularly the deaf. She was known for her witty humor, compassion and service to her church. Always sharing her recipes, she prepared many outstanding dishes for her church family and community. Ms. Nora was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and St. Albert Catholic Church. She was also an honorary member of the First Christian Church in Hammond, where her late husband was a member. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Lisa Kay Williams, Karin Williams Harper and her husband, Reggie and one sister, Olga M. Bartosh of New Orleans. She leaves behind many devoted nieces, nephews and extended family members. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Williams, parents, Pete and Florence Meszaros and a sister, Irene M. Mr. Richard H. "Dick" Williams, 85 years old of Ponchatoula, La., passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1927, in Magnolia, Miss., son of the late Paul H. and Mable Varnado Williams. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a devoted husband, dedicated and hard worker, and servant of the Lord. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula where he was ordained as a deacon in 1960. He was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served as chairman of the deacons and church treasurer. He served his country in World War II in the Navy. After managing his family's restaurant in downtown Ponchatoula (The Coffee Pot), he went on to work for 41 years for the United States Postal Service. From his days of playing in a teenage band (The Juke Box 5) to listening to all types of music, he loved music. He was a sports fan who loved LSU and Ponchatoula High School sports. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1944 and Southeastern Louisiana University in 1948. A great man from the greatest generation, he was loved by all and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Surviving are wife of 51 years, Betty Fairburn Williams, son, Danny R. "PEPOP" A resident of Baton Rouge, he was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on May 11, 1918, to Roger Sylvanus Williams Sr. and Nell McCallum Williams and died peacefully at his home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at age 90. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He retired from Allied Signal (now Exxon), where he was a chemical engineer with 36 years of service. Roger started up and was plant manager of Allied Chemical Plastics Plant in Painesville, Ohio. While in Ohio, he served as director of the chamber of commerce for two terms. In 1970, Roger was transferred to the Baton Rouge Plastics Plant, where he remained until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, he and his beloved wife, Lucy, moved to Lake Rosemound in St. Francisville. Lake Rosemound is where he spent the remainder of his life doing what he enjoyed the most: gardening, fishing, boating, swimming and playing bridge. He also cheered on the Tigers with family and friends, even though he secretly pulled for Ohio State on game days. Roger was an avid golfer and past president of the Men's Golf Association at Fairwood Country Club and traveled extensively throughout his career. He is survived by three daughters, Ronnie Lou Williams Corcoran, of St. Francisville, Jacqueline Williams Thompson and husband Dr. Michael Thompson, of Ballwin, Mo., and Patricia Williams Carter and husband Frank L.
