She was 82. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Amite Cemetery. Survived by five sons, Shelby Seymour Reid III, Denison, Texas, Lawrence Walton "Larry" Reid, Amite, James Aubrey Reid and Davis Gaines "Mike" Reid, both of Roseland, and Charles Morgan Reid III, Amite; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husbands, Shelby S. Reid Jr. and Daniel Winchester; a daughter, Doris Elizabeth Reid; and three brothers, Livingston Davis "Bud" Gaines, James Walton "Jack" Gaines III and Charles Morgan Gaines.
