Charles Joseph Windecker, Jr., 80 of Ponchatoula, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1926 in Ponchatoula, son of the late Charles Joseph and Mary Helen Barbier Windecker. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Eunice McKinney Windecker; 3 sons, Charles Joseph Windecker, III, Anthony Windecker, and Walter Windecker; 3 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Mary Ann Vallee. Memorial Services were held at Midway Baptist Church, Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 10 AM with Rev. Jimmy Wall officiating. She is survived by 4 daughters and their spouses, Linda W. & Ted Taylor, Joan Windecker, Patricia W. & Billy Taylor, Debra W. & Gasper Sciortino; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Todd Taylor, Scott Price, Lacey P. Finckbeiner, Sean Taylor, Jason Sciortino, Garrett Sciortino; 9 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Garrett W. "Bill" Windecker; grandson, Stephen Patrick Taylor; parents, Otto Mack & Florence Perrilloux Jones; sister, Amy Decker Reine; brother, Herman Jones. He was born on Friday, February 26, 1926, son of the late John Windecker and Bertha Louise Stroecker Windecker. Mr. Windecker was a retired Senior Operator with Monsanto Chemical Company. He served his country in the Navy, achieving the rank of Coxswain during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Henrietta Jones Windecker; 4 daughters, Linda W. Taylor, Joan W. Price, Pattie W. Taylor, and Debra W. Sciortino; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Todd Taylor, Scott Price, Lacey Price, Sean Taylor, Jason Sciortino, and Garrett Sciortino, also 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Windecker; and a grandson, Stephen Patrick Taylor. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. Born in Hanover, Germany, September 15, 1852, she came to the U.S. at the age of 8. She was the mother of three children lost in the hurricane of 1915 in Frenier. She is survived by six sons, John and Charlie of Manchac; Matt of New Orleans, Martin and Henry of Houston, Tex. and Adam of Ponchatoula; two daughters, Mrs. G. W.
