Survivors include a son, Vincent LeCompte, Independence; daughter, Alida Sharpe, Covington; five grandchildren and seven great-grand- children; two brothers, Alan Mier, Franklinton, Joe Mier, New Orleans; two sisters, Ella Rose McDaniel, Covington, Sabyl Romine, Iota. Her husband, J.B. Windom; brother, Wilson Mier; and one grandchild, preceded her in death. Visitation will be at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington, tonight from 6 to 10. The funeral will be held at Lee Roads Pentecostal Church, Covington, Saturday at 2 p.m., and burial will be in the church cemetery. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 1/18/2011 WINDOM, TOMMY R., SR. Rev. Tommy R. Windom Sr., 66 years old of Ponchatoula, died Saturday, January 15, 2011, in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1944, in New Orleans, son of the late Floyd Newton Windom and the late Mary Louise Seals. Rev. Windom served his country in the United States National Guard. Surviving are his 2 daughters, Carolyn Windom Hibley and Peggy Windom; 2 sons, Tommy Windom Jr. and Douglas Windom; adopted son, Joshua Lewis; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 10 brothers and sisters, Mary Louise Alexander, Patricia Alexander, James Alexander, David Alexander, Malcom Windom, Lettie Windom Sumrall, Otis Alexander, Calvin Windom, Tommy Earl Alexander, and Jackie Alexander. He is preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers and sisters, Daniel Alexander, Mary Jane Alexander, Jackie Alexander, Wanda Windom Ramsey, Rose Mary Alexander, and Rush Alexander. Friends will be received at Jesus Name Holiness Church in Ponchatoula on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, with his pastor for 38 years, Rev. Glenn Henson officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
