A drilling consultant for Texaco Oil Co. and a resident of Hammond, he died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Landmark Nursing Center, Hammond. He was 73 and a native of Troup County, Ga. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Jake Roudkovski. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Survived by two daughters, Mary W. Kirby, Birmingham, Ala., and Jean W. Carnal, Kenner; three sons, Dr. Thomas H. Wingo Jr., Hammond, Jeff Wingo, Leavenworth, Kan., and Doug Wingo, Ponchatoula; a sister, Jean W. Ogles, LaGrange, Ga.; and 11 grand- children. Preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Sara Hamer Wingo; two brothers, James and Pittman Wingo; and two sisters, Gloria Bahus and Marvalene Neely. He was a member of New Beulah Baptist Church and a member and past president of Hammond Shrine chapter. ********************************************************************************
