He was 81 and a native of Ogden, Utah. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday. Religious service at First Christian Church, Hammond, at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Madeleine Eidahl Wolber, Hammond; a son, James "Jim" Wolber, Baton Rouge, now living in Moscow for two years; two grandchildren, Phaedra Wolber, Metairie, and Gabe Wolber, Baton Rouge; and a great-grandchild, Nathan Wolber, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Gladys Bryan Wolber. He was a member of First Christian Church in Hammond, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired dairyman. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 4/2/2008 WOLBER, MADELEINE MAY EIDAHL Mrs. Madeleine May "Toots" Eidahl Wolber, 87 years old of Hammond, died Monday, March 31, 2008 in Hammond Nursing Home. She was born on Tuesday, July 20, 1920 in St. Ansgar, Iowa, daughter of the late Albert O. and Phyllis Johnson Eidahl. Mrs. Wolber was a member of the First Christian Church in Hammond. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Virginia Wolber; 4 grandchildren, Phaedra Wolber, Gabe Wolber, Brad Merritt, Karen Mortazavi; great-grandson, Nathan Wolber; brother, Duane W. Eidahl; and sister, Dellene E. Stubenrauch. She is preceded in death by her husband, Laverne "Red" Wolber and brother, Melbourn Eidahl. Friends will be received on Friday, April 5, 2008 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bill Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond.
