Brother Lee Roy Womack began his journey on December 24, 1944 and was made in advance by his parents, the late Irving and Lou Womack, Liverpool, La. Brother Lee Roy acquired his passport for his journey when he accepted Christ at an early age at Venable Chapel AME Church. Traveling this journey, he had trials, tribulations, heartaches and pains, but he kept the faith. He received his education from St. Helena High School, Greensburg, La. He later moved to Baton Rouge. Years later he moved back home where he resumed his membership under the leadership of Rev. Troy T. Grimes where he served on the Usher Board. His spirit was always one that was caring and sharing. He got great joy from sharing not only with family members, but was very generous with whatever had had with all people. He was united in holy matrimony to Vera Grace Davis. On Sunday, September 23, 2012, Brother Lee Roy Womack, Sr. entered eternal rest. When Brother Lee Roy, a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle became absent from the body, he became present with the Lord. She was 91, born Nov. 18, 1918, in Liverpool to the union of the late Rev. Tom Pitts and Lula Bryant. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Womack; six children, Jimmy Ray, Willie Gene "Slick," Carolyn Louise, Ned and twins, Alfa and Effie; two sisters, Ailene and Ruby; three half sisters, Florence, Clara and Maria; six brothers, Tom, Hardy, Mack, Lewis, A.B. and Hollis; four half brothers, Levi, Archie, Ben and Asbury; and two brothers-in-law, Ivory Taylor and Willie Young. She leaves to cherish her precious memory 12 children, Barbara Moore and husband Leon, of Baton Rouge, Lena Kendrick and husband Walter, of Amite, Walter Jr. and wife Rena, of Tickfaw, Shirley, of Baton Rouge, Myrtis Johnson and ex-husband Manuel, Janice, Morris and wife Joann, John and wife Mary, and Charles and wife Linda, all of Baton Rouge, Larry and wife Dildred, of Greensburg, the Rev.
