He was a native of Independence and a resident of Holden. He is survived by a sister, Jeannette Wren Kennedy, of Many; brother and sister-in-law, James and Marie Wren, of Holden; grandson, Alex Wren, of Florida; a special friend, Ms. Hazel Sanders, of Holden; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Lavinge Wren; and two sons, Harvey and Jonathan Wren. He worked for United States Plywood Corp. in Holden and retired from Hammond State School. He was a lifelong member of James Chapel Church in Holden. Visitation at James Chapel Church, Holden, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Interment in James Chapel Church Cemetery, Holden. "JIMMY" A member of Carpenter's Union Local 1098 and native of Corbin, he died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 74 and a resident of Holden. Visiting at Community Chapel Church, 35490 Walker N., Walker, on Monday, July 29, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Service at the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Brother Jim Carlisle. Interment in Ellie Courtney Cemetery, Walker. Survived by his spouse, Marie Courtney Wren; daughters, Trish Wren Muller and husband Shawn Muller, Pam Wren Ware, Charlene Wren Bordelon and Noopy Bordelon; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son, James Wren; parents, Sidney and Alva Wren; brother, Alex Wren; and sister, Jeanette Kennedy. Pallbearers will be James Wren, Mark Blount, Michael Ware, Donnie Ware, Chris Elgin and Timmy Blake. Honorary pallbearer is Benny Jones. He was a member of New Beginnings Church, Loranger.
