He was 80, a graduate of Baker High School and a member of the 1947 state champion basketball and football teams, served in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He will be remembered by the business and finance communities in Baton Rouge, and was appointed executive director of the Real Estate Commission by former Gov. Edwin Edwards. It was his wish to donate his remains to the LSU Medical School. Memorial services with military honors will be conducted at a date to be determined. Survived by his wife, Dona Lue; daughter, Cathryn Elayne Wyatt, of Kentwood; daughter and son-in-law, DonAnn and Ronald Flautz, of Fresno, Calif.; son, Stephen Yates and wife Martha Bruno Wyatt, of Lafayette; granddaughters, Heather Elayne Frazier, Clare Lauren Wyatt, Sarah Katherine Flautz and Leah Catherine Wyatt; grandsons, Jeremiah Loren Johnson and Ronald Gottlob Flautz; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Orvil and wife Melba Wyatt, Saucier, Miss.; sister-in-law, Juanita White Wyatt, Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin John and Beulah Roper Wyatt; brother, Willie Lee Wyatt; grandson, Nolan Johnson Jr.; and great-grandson, Matthew Nolan Scarberry. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana Inc. with special appreciation to RN Jolane and CNA Linda. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana Inc. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 4/5/2001 WYATT, HENRY Covington - Henry "Kelly" Wyatt, 60, died Sunday, Arpil 1, 2001, in Hammond. He was a native of Covington, a concrete helper and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include three sisters, Carrie Kelly Cyprain, Covington, Priscilla K. Jackson, Huntsville, Ala., and Geraldine Thomas, New Orleans; and five brothers, George Ezekiel, Theodore James, Elijah Thomas, Jacob and Joseph Kelly, all of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The funeral will be Friday at 8 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, Covington, with dismissal Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
