She was a native of Hammond and was a biochemist at the University of Illinois Burnside Research Laboratory, Urbana, Ill. She was also a member of the American Chemical Society. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Myron Yoss; three daughters, Ann Marie Yoss of Sandwich, Ill., Barbara Ruth Yoss of Indianapolis and Roberta Hursthouse of Naperville, Ill.; four sisters, Eldweiss Townsend and Verna Clara Brecheen, both of Baton Rouge, Laine Fisher of Kenner and Ruth Cheesman of Beaumont, Texas; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Henkel and Nenie Ruth Thompson; two brothers and one sister. The Rev. Paul Allen and Vera Duncanson will conduct the funeral Thursday at 3 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, Urbana. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Memorial contributions may be made to Provena Covenant Hospice Care Program, 1400 W. Park St., Urbana, Ill. 61801-9983. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana, is in charge.
