Heloise was a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula and a 1933 graduate of Ponchatoula High School. A kind mother, grandmother and friend, Heloise was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Joseph's Rosary Altar Society and the KC Ladies, as well as a volunteer for the City of Ponchatoula's Tourist Information Center. She is survived by sons A.J. Zabbia, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Richard "Dickie" Zabbia of Baton Rouge, and Robert "Bob" and wife Kim Howes Zabbia of Ponchatoula. She is survived by one granddaughter, Kate Stuart, daughter of Bob and Kim, and one grandson-in-law, JD Stuart, of Nashville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband A.J. Zabbia, Sr.; her only brother Hollis Gassen, Sr. and his wife Josephine Hungate Gassen; and parents Urbin and Frances Schroeder Gassen. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the visitation from 9-11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula on Saturday, April 24, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00. Interment will follow at the Ponchatoula Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations may be made in honor of Heloise Zabbia to the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 16013 Halbert Lane Hammond, 70403.
