He was 48 and a native of St. Rose. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Jan. 25, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Schatzle. Entombment in St. George Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Karen C. Zeringue; father and mother, Alvin L. and Gloria R. Zeringue, of St. Rose; a daughter, Sarah M. Zeringue, of Baton Rouge; son, Shane A. Zeringue, of Baton Rouge; a sister, Valerie Z. Miller and husband Warren Jr., of Roseland; three brothers, Brian L. Zeringue and wife Theresa, of New Iberia, Scot M. Zeringue, of Destrehan, and David W. Zeringue and wife Pamela, of Luling; and his Honduran family, Mercedes Paz and Salvador S. and Emy Canahuati, and all of his family in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward J. Jr. and Loretta P. Ruiz, Amilcar J. Jr. and Leona H. Zeringue; and uncles, Richard and Charles Zeringue. He was a brave soul, loving husband and wonderful caring father who lost a seven-year battle to cancer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Stanley was a lifelong resident of St. James. He was employed by the Texas-Pacific Railroad, Missouri- Pacific Railroad Co., and the Union Pacific System Railroad for a combined 43 years. He was also secretary-treasurer for St. James Parish Police Jury for 17 years. He served our country from July 1944 to June 1946 during World War II. Stanley was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survived by nine children and their spouses, Brenda and Al Allday, of Gonzales, Donald and Marilyn Zeringue, of Donaldsonville, Claire and Paul LeBlanc, of Labadieville, Mabel and Ricky Oubre, of Vacherie, Peggy and Randall Trudeau, of Millington, Tenn., Glenn and Sharon Zeringue, of St. James, Connie and James "Jimmy" Granier, Chackbay, Claudia and Stephen Mistretta, of St. James, and Faye and Claude Ordoyne, of Prairieville; two brothers, Alfred and wife Gladys Zeringue, of Husser, and Robert and wife Lillian Zeringue, of Vacherie; a sister Rita Mae and husband William Faulkner, of Slidell; two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Betty Zeringue, of St. James; 25 grandchildren, 37 great- grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Haydel Zeringue; parents, Furcy and Leah Zeringue; three brothers, James, Nelson and Allen Zeringue; granddaughter, Bridget Mary Oubre; great- grandson, Nicholas Falgoust; and great-granddaughter, Carmen Alexis White. Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael A. Miceli, celebrant.
