In memory of John Perkins, Senior original owner and Developer of Somerset Plantation Tensas Parish, Louisiana Born May 17, 1781 Died November 30, 1866 He lived the Life of a Gentleman of the Old South and One Devoted to the Christian Faith This monument was erected in Affectionate rememberance of Mrs Zelphia Perkins by her stepsons John & William 1813 In Memory of William Perkins born Natchez, April 26, 1821 lost at sea on the Artic returning from Europe Sept 22, 1854 Erected by his bereaved Father Blocks of pure marble in the midst of flowers best represent him Thomas Arnold Turner, Jr. Capt US Army World War II Apr 9, 1922 Jan 11, 1991
