STORE, NEWELLTON Mr. J.M. Long, manager of the Tensas Drug Co. store at Newellton, has made improvements which greatly improve the appearance of the store. A partition has been run the full length of the building, making a room 9 feet wide, with a double door at the front, and bar in the rear of the room. Tables and chairs are placed in the room for colored trade, and to provide a place for colored people to be served comfortably. This room is served by Buddie Cammack. A storeroom, 21X70 feet, is left, which is lined with wall cases and counters, on which the stock is artistically arranged. In the rear of the store is a white bar in charge of Mr. Votie Woodruff, where it is the avowed intention of the management to serve drinks in an orderly and businesslike manner. In the drug department, and throughout the building there has been installed a new lighting system and fixtures, and a Neon road sign outside. A new liquid fountain has been installed, and ice cream, beer and coca cola frigidaires. Local and long distance phones are available. Tables and booths are provided for serving cold drinks, or to be used for any convenience of the public. The "front" is in charge of Mr. L.A. Bankston, who has been with the company for five years. Mr Bankston says he has a complete line of pharmaceuticals and sundries, all of standard manufacture. Mrs. J.M. Long keeps the accounts and renders regular monthly statements to all customers for comparison and information. The decorations are new and attractive, and the general appearance of the store is improved throughout.
