Interment followed at Panola Cemetery under the direction of Tennants Funeral Home of Rayville. Mrs. Brown, 49, was born on April 28, 1951 and passed away on July 19, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Mae Bates and her father Joseph Gray, Jr. and one sister, Sandra Daily. She was survived by her daughter Regina Martin and son-in-law Timothy Martin; four sisters, Linda Day and husband, Danny, Betty Jeannette Graves, Elaine Roach and Barbara Buchanan; four brothers, Jeffrey Bates, Jr., Victor Thomas, Miker Bates and Terry Roach; a niece Myrna Daily and nephew Karry Daily; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pallbearers were Charles Davis, Philip Henderson, James Perry, Eddie Thorns, Melvin James and Tracy Shorts. Honorary Pallbearers were The Roach and Brown families.
