All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Funeral servies for Mrs. Sara Pairlee Dildine Grissom were held on Monday, January 10, 2000 at the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Mrs Grissom was born November 25, 1917 and died January 8, 2000, she was 82 years old! She was laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Services were conducted by the Reverends Bill Bearden, formerly of St. Joseph, Louisiana; Butch Farris, pastor of Unity Assembly of God in St. Joseph; and Leroy Culp of Memphis, Tennessee, a dear and liflong friend. The grandchildren of Mema Grissom performed the music for the service by singing "You Are My Sunshine" one more time for their Mema. This was her favorite song and she sang it as she rocked her babies from infants to adults. Mrs. Grissom is survived by her husband of 62 years, Onis Grissom, Sr.; two sons, Onis Grissom, Jr. and his wife, Arittia; their children Ginger Cannon and husband Chuck, Danielle and Zachary all of Columbia, Louisiana; Lea Pankey and her husband Mark of New Mexico; Onis' three sons from a previous marriage; Johnny Lynn & wife Terr; their sons Johnny Jr. and Brandon; Jerry Grissom; and Jeff Grissom; Larry Grissom and his wife Diane; their children Bailee and Logan all of St. Joseph; and Kim Hestle and her husband Jason of Bossier City, Louisiana. Mrs. Grissom has several great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by eight sisters and two brothers: Barbra Ingram of Palm Bay, Florida; Callie Boyd, Betty Potter and Dora Andrews of Michigan, Sue Vaughn and Edith Hicks of Missouri; Billie Joyce Aleander of Massachu- setts; Tom Dildine of Arkansas; and Bonnie Stinson of North Carolina. Pallbearers for Mrs. Grissom were Perry Eppinette, Gary Warlick, Kyle Clark, Jerry Clark and Ricky Rush all of St. Joseph and Jerry Wayne Patrick of Warden, Louisiana. Mema Grissom was our ray of sunshine, and we will all miss her bright and persistent spirit of hope she gave each os us everyday. Rest well Mema...we love you.
