Lawrence Dale LaPlue

      Private graveside services for Mr. Lawrence Dale LaPlue, 
Sr., 90, of Greenville, South Carolina, were held at 11:00 a.m., 
September 15, 2001 in the Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.  
Burial followed.
     
     A memorial service for the public was held at 1:00 p.m. in 
the Newellton Union Church.

     Mr. LaPlue, died  September 9, in the Sunrise Assisted Living 
Facility in Greenville, South Carolina.  He was born in Bridgeport, 
Illinois and had lived in Newellton for many years.

     He was preceded in death last year by his wife, Mrs. Sibyl  
Person  Laplue.

     He is survived by one son, Lawrence Dale LaPlue, Jr. of 
Greenville, South Carolina; one daughter, Gale L. Norman of 
Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
