All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Sibyl Person LaPlue Private graveside services for Mrs. Sibyl Person LaPlue, age 89, of Greenville, South Carolina, were held on Saturday, September 23, 2000 in the Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton with the Reverend J. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial was under the dir- ection of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. A memorial service for the public was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Newellton Union Church. Mrs. Laplue died, Tuesday, September 19 in Greenville, South Caro- lina after a lengthy illness. She was born in Castor, Louisiana and had lived in the Newellton area for many years. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Presbyterian faith. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Dale LaPlue, Sr. of Green- ville, South Carolina; one son, Lawrence (Larry) D. LaPlue, Jr.; one daughter, Gale L. Norman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Any memorials may be made to the Newellton Union Church.
