William Vernon Minchew

     Funeral Services for William Vernon Minchew, 57, 
of Baskin formerly of Newellton, were held on December 
27, 2003 at Gill First National Funeral Home Chapel in 
Winnsboro. Interment was in Legion Memorial Cemetery.

     He was better known by the name "Tex" and was born 
to the union of Earl and Leatha King Minchew of July 1, 
1946 and died on December 24,2003 at Glenwood 
Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.

     He served in the United States Marines.

     Mr. Minchew is survived by three brother, Ralph 
Minchew of Tallulah, James Minchew of Newellton 
and Reverend Daniel Minchew of Baskin; three sisters, 
Mary M. Swayzer, Emma M. Griffen of Wisner and 
Debra M. Scobbee of Winsboro.
