A memorial service was held for family and friends October 4, 1999 at the First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph with the Reverend Dave Shehan officiating. Internment was in Batesville, Mississippi, October 15, 1999, in Longcreek Cemetery. Jean was born September 11, 1941 in Batesville, Mississippi and attended school in St. Joseph and Vidalia, Louisiana and Natchez Mississippi. She attended college at M.S.C.W. Jean married William Morris in 1963 in Natchez. She worked for Brunini and Brunini law offices in Vicksburg and later for Watson and Watson in St. Joseph. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in St. Joseph and attended the First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph. Jean is survived by her sister, Peggy Ann Cook of Tyler, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph. Peggy's husband, Gilbert Lewis Cook and their three children, Gilbert Hollman Cook, his wife Tamara, and their son Gilbert Christopher all of Atlanta, Georgia, another nephew, Brian Chapman Cook, his wife, Kristen, and her niece, Stephanie Gail Cook Jones and her husband, Andrew Wayne Jones and their two children Jeffrey Blake Hayden and Haley Elizabeth Jones of Tyler, Texas. Jean was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Chapman of Lyon, Mississippi and paternal grand- parents Mr. & Mrs. Paul Davis of Batesville, Mississippi, her father James Paul Davis of Batesville, Mississippi, her husband William (Bill) H. Morris, of St. Joseph, Louisiana, her foster parents Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hollman Cook, St.Joseph, Louisiana and her mother Margaret Chapman Davis of Natchez, Mississippi. Memorials may be made to Tensas Academy, Wesley Chapel, The First United Methodist Church, St Joseph, or the Saint Joseph Orchestra.
