James Augustus Newman

   Funeral services for Jimmy Newman, 48, were held March 6, 
2003 at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.  Interment was in 
Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.
   Mr. Newman a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, was born 
April 2, 1954, in Newellton and died at his residence on 
March 4, 2003.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jesse Newman; 
his mother, Mary Lanice Newman and his sister, Mary Ann  McLeod.
   Mr. Newman is survived by his wife, Debbie Louise Newman; one 
daughter, Elizabeth L. Griggs; a son, James Keith Newman; his 
brother Robert Newman, Jr.; a sister, Eula Maples; his grandmother, 
Nan Logue Black; and one grandchild.
