Norwood, 80 of Winnsboro were held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 6, 1999 at St. Joseph Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Stevens officiating. Interment was at Stevenson Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Norwood died Friday, December 3, 1999 at Franklin Medical Center, Winnsboro. Mrs. Norwood was a native of Mississippi and a past resident of Tensas Parish. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thurmon Jimmy Norwood. Survivors include her childrren, Joan Norwood Walker of Bridge City, Tx; Jimmy Carl Norwood of Silsbee, Tx; Sherry Norwood Stevenson of Albany, CA; Lanny Dale Norwood of Bossier City, LA; and Nan Norwood Barnes of Vicksburg, MS. She is also survived by two sisters, Mavis Fortenberry of Winnsboro, and Inez Balsters of Topeka, KS; two brothers, Jerry Meeks of Rayville; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
