Last Rites For Thomas Ira Parker Held
   Funeral services for Thomas Ira Parker, 68, of Newellton, who died
Sunday, Oct. 4, in the St. Charles Memorial Hospital after a long illness,
was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, at Bethany Baptist Church near
Newellton.
   Rev. A.D. Foster and the Rev. F.K. Shipp officiated at the services.
Internment was in the Legion Memorial Cemetery at Newellton.
   Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elsie Parker of Newellton; two sons, J.W.
Parker of Medford, Ore.; and D.A. Parker of Ashland, Ore.; three daughters,
Mrs. Harman Arnold, Mrs. Lillie Guin and Mrs. Gracie Walters, all of
Newellton; two brothers, Zed Parker and Nila Parker, both of Newellton; a
sister, MMrs. Sam Dozier of Eros; 11 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Note: Thomas Ira Parker, born Feb 21, 1895 in Winn Pa., La., was the s/o
Daniel and Sarah Jane "Shug Ma" Tarver Parker.
