Zed Parker
   Newellton (Special) - Zed Parker, 68, died in a Newellton hospital
Saturday after a short illness.  He was a native of Winn Parish and had
resided in Tensas Parish for the past 32 years.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church with
the Rev. A.D. Foster officiating. Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery under
direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah.
   Mr. Parker, a farmer and member of Bethany Baptist Church is survived by
his widow, Mrs. Susie [Shellie] Parker; two sons, J.D. Parker, Newellton,
and Bill Parker, Del Rio, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. R.H. Rhodes, Tallulah;
five grandchildren; one brother, Nila Parker, Newellton; one sister, Mrs.
Lelia Dozier, Eros.
   Pallbearers will be Julius Dozier, Hillray Dozier, Michael Parker, A.C.
Lyles, Jewel Guinn and Jack Brace.
Note: Zed Parker, born Jul 19, 1896, was the s/o Daniel and Sarah Jane
"Shug Ma" Tarver Parker.
