Lora Wayne Penton

     Funeral services for Mr. Lora 
Wayne Penton, 79, of St. Joseph, were 
held February 25, 2004, at St. Joseph 
Baptist Church.  Interment followed at 
Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.

     Mr. Penton died on February 23, 
2004 at Tensas Care and Rehabilitation, 
in Newellton.  He served during WWII 
with the United States Navy as part of 
the Amphibian Transport Unit.

     He was preceded in death by his 
father: Martin Kenzie Penton; mother: 
Roxie Alford Penton; a brother: Wimon 
Penton; a sister: Lorell P. McKnight; 
and twins: Brian and Mary Lorelle 
Penton.

     Surviving him are his wife: Alice 
Lavigne Penton of St. Joseph; son: Mark 
Wayne Penton of Monroe, La and brother: 
Gary E. Penton of Pineville, La.
