Appleton Bonds Ratcliff, Jr.

   Funeral services were held for Bonds Ratcliff, 92, of 
Baton Rouge and St. Joseph , on March 8, 2003.  Interment 
was in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.
   Mr. Ratcliff was born on May 15, 1910 in St. Joseph and 
died on March 4,  2003 in Baton Rouge.
   Mr. Ratcliff worked  as  an engineer for the Louisiana 
Department of Highways , retiring in 1974 after 40 years 
of service.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Buford 
Ratcliff; his parents, Appleton B. Sr. and Annie Muir 
Ratcliff; two brothers, Wallace Vernon Pat Ratcliff and 
Russell Young Ratcliff; one sister Caralyn Ratcliff Slaughter.
   Mr. Ratcliff is survived one daughter Carol Beard of 
Gulfport, Mississippi; two grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren.
