All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Funeral services for Mrs. Edie Price Hoover Stokes, age 86, of Newellton were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 7, 1999 in the Chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah with Rev. David McKeithen officiating. Following the service, internment was in the Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Stokes died Friday November 5, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro after a lengthy illness. She was born in oak Grove, Louisiana and had lived in Tensas Parish since 1941. She was a retired salesclerk and a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Newellton. Survivors include three sons, William David Hoover, Monroe, Dale P. Hoover, Natchez, Mississippi and Chester A. Hoover Natchez, Mississippi, two daughters, Annie Sue Bennett of Baker, Louisiana and Thelma Lee Hopkins of Newellton, Louisiana. She is also sur- vived by fourteen great-grandchildren and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary D. Hoover, Dale Price Hoover, Jr., Stephen W. Hoover, Edgar B. Dixey, Shane Debnam, Scott Frick, Lofton Ginn, and Arthur Stevens.
