ALBERTA WATSON

   Funeral services were held on January 24, 2003, for Mrs. Alberta 
"Monkie" Watson, 70, of St. Joseph, at Greater St. John Baptist 
Church in St. Joseph.

   Interment was in Union Fraternal Cemetery in St. Joseph.

   Mrs. Watson died on January 19, 2003 at Franklin Medical Center 
in Winnsboro. She was born on October 27, 1933 in St. Joseph, the 
daughter of Bill Skinner and Ruth Taylor Marshall.

   Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosia Marie 
Jackson.

   Surviving Mrs. Watson is her husband, Alex Watson, Sr. of St. 
Joseph; five sons, Alex Watson, Jr. of Calumet City, Illinois, 
Eugene Watson of St. Joseph, Herman Watson of St. Joseph, Curtis 
Watson of St. Joseph and Kevin Jackson of Monroe; five daughters, 
Sarah Gholston, Katie Watson, Glynis Cephus, all of St Joseph, 
Lena Jones of West Valley City, Utah and Martha Bass of Newellton; 
four brothers, Otis Fields of Chicago, Illinois, D.C. Thomas of 
Waterproof, Eugene Marshall of Norfolk, Virginia and Bill Skinner 
of New Orleans; two sisters, Maggie Mickey of Hazelcrest, Illinois 
and Lomie Lewis of Monroe; twenty two grandchildren and fifteen 
great grandchildren.
