Reverend Jimmie "J.V." Williams

   Funeral services for Reverend Jimmie Williams were held on 
April 15, 2003,at Salem Baptist Church in Bunkie, Louisiana.  
Interment was in New Light Cemetery in Evergreen, Louisiana.
   Rev. Williams died on March 28 at St. Francis Cabrini 
Hospital in Alexandria.  He was born on December 30, 1934.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Aaron 
and Hester Williams; and three siblings.
   Rev. Williams served with the U S Army.
   He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mercedes Williams 
of St. Joseph; four children, Sulithian Faye Williams, 
Michelle Kollie, LaDonna Strauss and Jarvis Williams all 
of Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren. He is also survived 
by one sister, Sophie Scott; and one brother Rev. Willie 
D. Williams, all of Bunkie.
