The church was organized by a black Frenchman from Opelousas, La., Reverend Del Mente Redo. Since its organization, it has been located in four parts of the parish. It was first built at Ardoyne Plantation on Bayou Black Route. Later the church was reconstructed at Mulberry Plantation on Dularge Route. For its third move, Howard was relocated at the Ridgeland Plantation, also on Bayou Dularge. Finally, Howard was rebuilt in Crozier on a 80' x 140' tract of land donated by William Howard. The first pastor of Howard Third Zion Travelers Church was T. L. McComb. The present pastor is Reverend I.H. Riley. Being the third oldest black Baptist church in the parish, Howard has been air conditioned since 1960. Future plans for the church include the erection of an "ultra-modern Edifice to be constructed on adjourning property recently purchased by the church", remarked the Rev. Riley, present pastor of Howard. Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church is located in Crozier on Bayou Dularge. Howard is the third oldest black Baptist Church in Terrebonne Parish. The Rev. I.H. Riley is serving as pastor of Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church.
